LaRosa is a great Cincinnati pizza brand. Their thin crust pizza did not make me feel down. Their lunch combos were cheap with great selections of food. The pizza was freshly baked and French onion soup tasted not bad. This place had a large and clean room. Servers were good and WiFi was fast.
Overview
Walking into Larosa's Pizza Centerville for the first time felt familiar in the best way, like stepping into a neighborhood spot that already knows your order. Located at 291 E Alex Bell Rd, Centerville, OH 45459, United States, this diner-style restaurant balances comfort food vibes with a sense of tradition that’s been built over decades. I stopped in on a Friday evening after a long workday, and the place was buzzing with families, teens in sports jerseys, and couples grabbing a casual dinner, which already said a lot about how woven it is into the local routine.
What immediately stood out was the menu. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s packed with options that feel intentional. The pizza, of course, anchors everything. The sauce has that slightly sweet, slightly tangy profile that Larosa’s is known for, and according to company history shared in regional food publications, the recipe dates back to the 1950s. That longevity matters. Food researchers from the National Restaurant Association often point out that consistent flavor is one of the top reasons customers return to legacy brands, and it shows here. Every slice I’ve had over multiple visits tastes the same, in a reassuring way.
Beyond pizza, the menu stretches into calzones, hoagys, salads, and pasta bowls. On one visit, I watched a family split a large pepperoni pizza while another table dug into baked pasta, which lined up with my own experience ordering the family favorite items when dining with friends. The kitchen runs like a system that’s been refined over time. Orders move quickly, but nothing feels rushed, and the staff checks in just enough to keep things relaxed.
From a practical standpoint, the location works well. Being right off Alex Bell Road makes it easy to reach, and there’s plenty of parking, which is something diners often mention in reviews. I checked recent online feedback before my first visit, and many customers highlighted consistent quality and friendly service as reasons they keep coming back. That matches what I saw firsthand. One server mentioned they’ve worked there for years, which quietly reinforces trust. High staff retention in restaurants is often linked to better customer experiences, according to labor studies published by the Ohio Restaurant Association.
There’s also something to be said for how this place fits into the larger pizza landscape. Americans eat an estimated 3 billion pizzas per year, based on data from agricultural and food industry reports, yet only a handful of chains manage to feel local in every town they’re in. This Centerville spot pulls that off. It doesn’t try to be trendy, and it doesn’t need to. Instead, it leans into what it does well: reliable food, approachable prices, and a dining room where everyone seems comfortable.
That said, it’s fair to note a limitation. If you’re looking for experimental flavors or ultra-thin artisan crusts, this may not be your top pick. The style here is classic, and that’s clearly by design. For most diners, especially families or anyone craving a dependable pizza night, that’s not a drawback at all.
Over time, I’ve come to think of this restaurant as a default choice when planning something easy that still feels satisfying. Whether dining in, picking up after practice, or scanning reviews to decide where to eat nearby, this location holds its own. The experience lines up with what reputable food analysts often say about successful neighborhood diners: do a few things well, repeat them consistently, and treat people right.

Decided to get some pizza for lunch while we we out doing some errands. It was very cold and rainy this day but the store was well lit, warm and inviting. It took a couple of minutes to be seated, but the wait staff was very attentive. The store was very clean. It was refreshing how clean the restroom was. This is not always the case at soom places. We ordered two small pizzas with a salad. The food arrived in no time. The sauce was delicious and plentiful. The crust was thin and cooked perfectly. I could have used a little more pepperoni and sausage, but it was a small size pizza. The salad was fresh tasted and made to order. Overall, the pizza was good, Salas was good, and server checked on us often. We will be back.
Best I have ever had. We had a pretty large order as we were throwing 2 birthday parties at once. The staff were very friendly and they made sure we had plenty of plates and utensils. Very happy with the experience at this location.
The food was absolutely fantastic! The family and I tried a large pepperoni, rondo bread, a hoagie, and a pepperoni and ham calzone. It was all amazing. The hostess was polite and welcoming, and our server was on top of it. I highly recommend stopping in and enjoying some of their food!
My wife and I are from greater Cincinnati and have lived here in Dayton for about 20 years. LaRosa's Pizza is a staple in Cincinnati, a HomeTown favorite. There were several LaRosa's here in Dayton but they all closed down except for the one I'm doing the review of. The young man who waited on us was very attentive, kind and pleasant. We will definitely come back!
